Fun with Family

A little over a week after we moved in we christened our new home by making brand new memories with Layne & Brooke's families who came to spend their vacations with us. Layne & Aaron & their 3 came from Calif. and Brooke & Chad & their 5 little boys came from Indiana.

Mason & Tanner played non-stop together - they love Legos and Star Wars !!!

Everyone returned to their old collegiate days & went up to BYU to visit & see all the changes.

Had to take pictures with Brigham...

We celebrated Tanner earning all 20 activity badges in Weeblos. We make our gr-sons a candy bar poster with 1 candy bar for each badge they earn.

We went to the Dinosaur Museum. They were celebrating their 10th anniversary. Mason got to talk to the same Palentologist that had given him a fossil 5 or 6 years ago. We toured all the museum, saw a scary shark-(love those faces!), the kids dug for bones in the sand & we played games... how much better can it get?

I'm pretty sure that you are incredibly tired by now & you haven't even begun to see what else we did. So, the next few posts will show the rest of the story. Rest up before reading further, I know I will need to...

We LOVE the view !

One of the most amazing things we love about our new home are the incredible views.
Since we are up on the side of the mountain we have some wonderful views of Utah Valley.
The eating area is an extension of our kitchen & it has 2 huge corner picture windows.
Out of the window on the left, we have a beautiful view of Utah lake. We watch the water change from medium blue, to sometimes dark blue, to even a green sometimes. We also watch the storms that come in over the lake. The lightning is magnificent here!
Out of the main window on the right we have a gorgeous view of the Mt. Timpanogos temple.
When they light it at night it is even MORE gorgeous, if that's possible!
We sat on our balcony and watched the fireworks in American Fork.
Then, of course... we HAD to go there!
It is a wonderful, visual reminder of where we are headed! It is an everyday reminder to keep
ourselves worthy ! And it keeps us thinking about attending more often. Right now, since it is a new view for us, we marvel at it every single day! I hope that time does not make us take for granted this beautiful building! I hope it never grows old ! Last week when we went, we walked out our door at 3:40pm - drove to the temple, did a session and were walking back in our door at 6pm!
Imagine! 2 hrs & 20 minutes from door to door! Believe me, we DO recognize how lucky we are!
And we feel very blessed every day to look out to our beautiful view!

Fourth of July

On the Saturday before the 4th - we decided to get up early and drive down to Provo and watch
the annual hot air balloon lift-off to celebrate the Fourth of July. Brooke put together this awesome collage & I am pirating it because I can't do it on photoshop like she can.
That morning it was a little windy - so we waited a long time for them to decide whether they would actually be able to launch. The wind can be no more than 15 mph. So, while we waited, the boys got to take their picture inside the basket of one of the balloons. We also watched as they spread out a balloon and fired up the engines to inflate one of them. It was a little chilly, so the fire actually felt pretty good.

Later that day, Brooke- our resident photographer now- took some pictures of the Krey kiddos
all decked out in their red, white & blue.

That night we did a few fireworks in front of our house, but alas - no one took any pictures!!
We haven't lived in a place that allows fireworks in a very long time - so all the kids loved it!

Back & Forth

We no sooner got to Utah and had just 2 days to unpack, when we got on an airplane & went
right back to Calif. Zach was having his 8th birthday celebration. We all went to an A's game &
stayed to watch fireworks after.
Then on Sunday, Mason - who had turned 12 - was ordained to the Aaronic Priesthood, and later
that night Zach was baptized! We felt so lucky to be able to be there for such momentous occasions.

As Mason had turned 12 & gone into Boys Scouts, I made a present for him that was a framed copy of his cub scout shirt & all the achievements he had earned. We had done this for our Chad
when he was young & we loved seeing it on the wall - so we gave one to Mason too.

It was a quick trip ... just Saturday to Monday... then back to Utah & MAJOR unpacking before
Layne & her family as well as Brooke & her family were due to arrive for vacation only a few days later!

Getting things ready...

Before we actually moved in, we spent a weekend getting things ready like cleaning carpets, washing windows, and PAINTING, and PAINTING and PAINTING !!!
My brother Ron & his wife Pat came to help!! They were a wonderful, unexpected blessing! I'm not sure how we would have fared had they not been there. Ron & Roger worked long & hard fixing
an unexpected leak in the Laundry room . How cool to have family who knows how to do absolutely everything !
Misty also came. She painted "her room" - shown here. It is actually the guest room on the main
floor. So, if you ever come - (like you Lindy) - here is where you'll stay. That is, unless Misty is also

here at the same time - then you'll have to go downstairs , because she has claimed this room as her own. Now, of course, we just have to GET her here.

It now looks like this: (sorry, but until Lindsay comes in August, there aren't many pictures up. I need my interior decorator here before I make some HUGE blunders in placement!)

(okay, it only took me a whole hour to finally get this tiny post done... I obviously need more
in-depth training! watch for my call Brooke and Lindsay....)
